The York NAACP is hosting a meeting Tuesday evening for members of the community to come out and talk to local law enforcement officials about the death of Michael Brown and the events that have unfolded since then.

Brown, 18, was shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri back on August 9.

Brown was unarmed.

NAACP President Sandra Thompson says six local police chiefs as well as the District Attorney,Tom Kearney, will be at the meeting to answer questions from the public.

Thompson says they'll cover topics such as racial profiling as well as discuss the proper ways to handle police encounters.

Thompson says she hopes the forum will create a level of trust between members of community and local law enforcement officials to hopefully prevent a similar tragedy from occurring in York.

The forum will start at 6:00 p.m. August 26th and will be held at Crispus Attucks, 605 S. Duke St. in York City.
