A Dauphin County man told police that someone went through his closets while he was distracted from his home.

Lower Paxton Township police said the resident told police he was approached at his home along the 200 block of Lincoln Street on Wednesday afternoon by a man who asked him about buying a pickup truck in his driveway.

The stranger then claimed he was putting up a fence for a neighbor and asked about the property line.  While in the backyard with the resident he began speaking on a walkie-talkie in Spanish, police said.

The resident became suspicious when the man walked away from his property, so he called the neighbor and found he was not putting up a fence.

It is believed nothing was taken from the home, police said.

The resident described the man as Hispanic, about 40 years old, with short black hair. He was wearing a gray and black plaid long sleeve shirt and long pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Paxton police at 717-657-5656.
