A Penn Township man iss accused of firing a gun at the tow truck operators who were repossessing his car.

Lonnie Ashford, 41, of Manheim, allegedly fired three shots at two repossession employees in the 300 block of South Main Street just after 1:00 a.m. Friday.

According to police, Ashford then got on a motorcycle and chased the employees as they fled in the tow truck with the car attached. Officers who were investigating a nearby incident heard the gunfire followed by the sound of a motorcycle starting and accelerating. Police located Ashford and took him into custody without incident.

The tow truck employees were not injured.

Ashford  was charged with two counts of recklessly endangering another person. Officers recovered a .380  caliber handgun at Ashford’s residence.

Ashford was later released on a $25,000 unsecured bail.
