You could hear the same sound all day Saturday at Mayapple Golf Club in Cumberland County.    Golfers step up and grip it and rip it in the 1st annual Central PA Long Drive Championships.   The event is the brainchild of Mayapple's PGA Professional Dan Baker.   Anyone was welcome to take their swings.  Once they connect, a group of people track it down and measure for exact yardage via GPS.  Over 90 golfers muscle up and let it fly.

"We have three divisions, women, men and seniors 55 plus," said Baker.  "You just show up and give me your name.  You get five hits, everyone uses ProV1 golf balls donated by Titleist.   The top three in each division come back and hit for the finals."

Lisa Maddux won the Women's Division with a distance of 229 yards.    Dan Alloway takes the Seniors with a hit of 276 yards and the Men's Champion is Brent Will with a drive of 359 yards.   Baker thanked Universal Media and L.B. Smith Ford for sponsoring the event.
