The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners has received and will accept the resignation/retirement of John T. Wise, Director of Public Safety/Emergency Coordinator; effective September 19, 2014. We thank Ted for his 40 years and 4.5 months of service and wish him the best in retirement.
Immediate measures are being taken to ensure a smooth transition in the management of 911 operations. It is imperative that there be no interruption or diminution of service to our citizens, nor in the support provided to our first responders. The Board of Commissioners will announce its plans for a redesign to improve performance of the County’s 911 services at this Wednesday’s Finance Meeting at 1:30 pm. The presentation will cover immediate steps to improve performance, as well as strategic objectives to ensure the ongoing viability of the County’s 911 operations.
