Members of several local churches are using their message of service and love to help a York County family.

Members of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America teamed up with Habitat for Humanity for their "God's Work. Our Hands" service day in Windsor Township.

Volunteers helped build a home that will be the future residence of Ashley Moffitt and her 8 year-old daughter.

Volunteers say they're happy to help.

"It's actually pretty fun getting out of the house and getting out in the community. I mean, building a house is pretty fun,"  said Cody Goodling, a volunteer from St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Habitat for Humanity has been working on this home since March. It hopes to have project completed sometime next year.

"It means the world to us. It's amazing to see how many volunteers have come out to help a house that they don't even know us, it's amazing, " Moffitt said.
