A Columbia Borough man is charged in the weekend stabbing of a Lancaster City.  City detectives determined that Elwarts Richard Bodden, 23, was the driver of a black Honda Civic that fled the scene of the early morning stabbing at a home along the 400 block of West Orange Street.  The driver struck an unmarked police car while driving away.

The 29 year old victim sustained multiple stab wounds. She is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.

Bodden was taken into custody without incident at about 7:47 pm Sunday in the 300 block of North State Street in Ephrata Borough. Bodden was found to have a previous warrant for burglary and simple assault stemming from an incident that occurred in the 200 block of Nevin Street, Lancaster on May 11.  He also has an outstanding parole violation detainer from the state of New Jersey.

Charges against Bodden include 3 counts of Aggravated Assault, 3 counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officers.

Following arraignment he was sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail.
