How does a newly renovated pool and ALS awareness relate to one another? Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse gets wet to show us how.
Papenfuse wanted to wait to show off the city’s $30,000 makeover at the Hall Manor Pool. He says for years, the pool was neglected. His administration worked hard to patch up the leaks. It will be ready next summer. Meanwhile, Papenfuse took advantage of a full pool of water to draw attention to finding a cure for ALS.
Papenfuse says, "It's about empowering the community to know if we all come together, we can make a difference in this world on large things like fighting diseases, modest things like getting a pool fixed, or fighting blight or cleaning up trash or whatever."
The Mayor also donated to the cause...and he nominated FOX43's Rebecca Solomon to do the ALS Bucket Challenge. She accepted and nominated three more people. To find out who, head to Rebecca's Facebook page.
