OLIVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPMT)-The boyfriend of a woman found dead in Perry County last week has been arrested after a 4-hour standoff, police said.

Pennsylvania State Police arrested 42-year-old Troy McNemar, of Mifflintown, on Tuesday at a home along William Penn Highway in Fermanagh Township.  According to police, McNemar was a person of interest in the suspicious death of 51-year-old Sherry Lynn Sears.

Sears was found dead inside her home along the 500 block of North 4th Street in Oliver Township on Sept. 11.

Investigators said Sears’ green 2001 Mazda MPV minivan was found Tuesday by a man walking in the Tuscarora State Forrest in Juniata County.

The Perry County Coroner’s office said Monday that Sears did not die as a result of any of the physical injuries found on her body. The cause and manner of her death are pending toxicology and other testing.

McNemar was taken to prison in lieu of $100,000 bail. Investigators have not said whether or not they are charging him in connection with Sears death.

So far, he is only facing theft charges.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police ask anyone with information to call them at 717-567-3110.
