Two York County boys, who died tragically when they were each just 5-years old, will be remembered forever with a new memorial playground.
The Ryan Arnold/Jacob Nell Playground was dedicated on Saturday at Shiloh United Church of Christ in West Manchester Township.
The boys, both attended preschool at the church's early learning center before their deaths.
Ryan died from cancer in 2012; Jacob was killed in a farm accident in 2013.
The new playground was celebrated at the dedication and will bring smiles to children's faces in honor of both of the boys.
"When we decided that we needed to do something to honor Jacob and Ryan, we decided because they were two boys that loved to play, we decided what we needed to do was build a playground, and we built it with them in mind," said Allison Hartnett, Director of the Shiloh UCC Early Learning Center.
Both the Arnold and Nell families were involved in selecting the play structure and the colors and were in attendance at the dedication.
Other activities were also held at the celebration, including a bounce house, face painting and of course, the youngsters gave the playground a good inaugural workout.
