Hundreds of bikers gathered in Harrisburg Saturday afternoon for the 14th annual Ride to Gettysburg.

Nearly 400 bikers took part in this year's ride including FOX43's Evan Forrester. The group started at the Capitol and ended at the Battlefield Harley-Davidson/Buell in Gettysburg. All the money raised will be donated to repair and restore all of the monuments in Gettysburg Battlefield.

"I'm just a part of history. I can help to preserve a part of history. So often we forget and I think it's a good reminder," said Kathy Shaffer, a first-time rider in the event.

The Pennsylvania Gettysburg Monument Project is hoping to reach their goal of $431 thousand dollars. They've raised more than half of that so far.
