For more than 30 years, people in one small Lancaster County town have gathered for a one-of-a-kind event-- the Falmouth Goat Races.

More than 50 goats took park in the double elimination contest on Saturday in Conoy Township. The race was held at Gerber Park along with an old-fashioned festival.

The races started as a joke decades ago, but they have gained popularity ever since.

"I put an ad in the paper telling folks we were gonna have a goat race and I put my buddy's name and phone number in there and everybody called him and we've been racing it ever since," Goat Race Secretary and Originator Ken Brandt said.

By the end of the races,  4 winners were crowned and given trophies.

All of the money raised goes to make improvements at Gerber Park and will help needy families in the area.
