Police identify the victim in a fatal accident Monday morning in Lancaster County. The single vehicle crash, which involved a roll over, happened at about 11:40 pm at the Route 222 exit ramp at Route 322 in Ephrata Township.
The driver of a Ford Explorer southbound in the passing lane approximately a quarter mile north of the Ephrata Exit, lost control, veered to the right and struck the Route 322 exit sign. After hitting the sign the vehicle flipped over and rolled numerous times along the ramp’s grass embankment next to the Walmart. The SUV came to a rest on the passenger side. The driver was trapped inside until he was freed by medical personnel.
The victim is identified as Kevin Gress, 55, of Denver, Lancaster County. Gress died of his injuries at Lancaster General Hospital.
The crash is under investigation.
