The search continues for a man police say has robbed three York County businesses in the past week in Windsor and York Townships.

Surveillance video obtained by FOX43 a man dressed in a hat and hoodie -- broke into Cape Horn Family Restaurant early Saturday -- smashed the two front doors with a rock and grabbed the register.

"He may be looking for places that he perceives as possibly having cash on hand," said Sargent Jeff Dunbar with York Area Regional Police Department.

But after realizing there was no cash, he came 30 minutes later, broke into the back office and tried to take the safe. It was too heavy and he ended up leaving empty-handed. But not before causing thousands of dollars worth of damage inside the restaurant located in Cape Horn Plaza.

It's the third business affected by a string of smash-and-grab burglaries along Cape Horn Road in the overnight hours in the past week.

According to police, the same man broke into Clarity Salon last Wednesday. They say he also took a rock, smashed the front door and stole more than $200 dollars in cash from the register. And on September 22nd, Red Lion Chiropractic was targeted. The thief stole $150 dollars in cash.

"We believe that they're related somehow because of the type of burglary that's been with the point of entry and the implements used," said Sargent Dunbar.

It's left other business owners wondering when he'll strike again.

"Well if it could happen to her, it could happen to me, one of these days. So we do have security alarms and everything but we're still concerned in this area," said Tommy Tran, Owner of Trudy Nails, located just doors away from Cape Horn Family Restaurant in York Township.

Police say with several businesses targeted, they're asking homeowners to remain vigilant as well.

"He could be getting to houses next, so obviously make sure everything is locked up, security systems in place, if you have one," said Sargent Dunbar.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call York Area Regional Police Department.
