Full scale child abduction drill Friday in Hanover

The York County Missing Child Task Force will hold a full-scale exercise Friday morning in Hanover.

The goal of the drill is to test the Task Force’s response to a mock child abduction or missing child. Incident command will be stationed at Saint Vincent de Paul Church, 220 3rd St. in Hanover, with drill activity expected between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the surrounding area.
People in the area should expect significant law enforcement activity during the drill. The York County Mobile Command Unit and various search teams will be on site. Most activity will take place along the following streets: Sprenkle Avenue, South Street, St. Vincents Lane, Diller Road. Princess Street, Queen Street and High Street.

Up to 50 individuals are expected to participate in the drill from a variety of agencies, including the Hanover Borough Police Department.
