Ebola Outbreak Concerns

An American cameraman working for NBC News has tested positive for the Ebola virus.

NBC Nightly News broke the news on its Twitter account Thursday night.

The freelance photographer, identified as Ashoka Mukpo, is said to be returning to the United States for treatment.

He was reportedly working alongside the network’s chief medical correspondent in Liberia when he came down with symptoms of the virus on Wednesday.

Mukpo was taken to a Doctors Without Borders treatment center and his test result came back positive 12 hours later.

The entire news team is being flown back to the U.S. in a private charter flight where they will be placed  in quarantine for 21-days as a precaution.

Mukpo is now the fourth American known to have contracted Ebola in Liberia.
