HARRISBURG (WPMT)-A 14-year-old girl was violently assaulted in Harrisburg on Friday morning while walking to school, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Market Street for a report of a disoriented juvenile around 7:40 a.m.
According to police, an adult male approached the girl and forced her behind a nearby home. No weapon was displayed–but investigators believe he made threats indicating that he had a weapon.
The girl was assaulted and police believe she may have also been sexually assaulted.
Authorities said the girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as an adult black male, with short facial hair across the bottom of his jaw. He was last wearing a tan colored sweatshirt, jeans, black and red Jordan sneakers and a black baseball hat.
