Officials in Hummelstown, Dauphin County are working on deploying their new code red emergency notification system.  The system allows officials to give people and businesses emergency information by phone, text message, email and social media.  Emergency events such as the Columbine shootings and the 9/11 terrorist attacks have prompted more local governments to roll out such systems.  Hummelstown officials are encouraging people wanting to sign up for code red alerts to visit the borough website or contact the borough office.
