Friends are remembering two York County teens killed in a car crash in West Manheim Township early Sunday morning.

The crashed happened at 3 a.m. that morning on the 1000 block of Impounding Dam Road. The car went off the road and hit a house. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

16-year old Jason Coward Jr. and 15-year-old Jake Eyler died at the scene. Coward was driving.

"He just recently got his license and he was so happy to get it, and he was just so ecstatic about it," says friend Nicole Orem.

"I didn't go to school today, I felt like that would be right for Jason and just stay with my friends and make sure they're OK," says friend Mason Eyler. "Cause they were in a little bit of a mess today."

Friends are leaving letters , teddy bears, photos and other mementos at the site. A number of teens gathered there on Monday night.

Coward went to South Western High School and Eyler went to Hanover. Those who knew them say the boys were best friends and they had both attended South Eastern's homecoming that night.

"[Jake] was there for you when you needed him," says Orem. "He was funny, he knew how to make people laugh, just like Jason. I guess that's why they were best friends, really."
