Jenna and Dan Haley welcomed their son Shane Michael at 2:25 a.m. on Thursday.

The Philadelphia couple knew when Jenna was just 13 weeks pregnant that their time with Shane would be brief.  Doctors told her that their son had anencephaly, which is a terminal brain defect.

The couple decided they would create a bucket list for Shane before he was even born, knowing he may only live a few days or even hours.

The Haley’s completed Shane’s bucket list on September 6th, with list items including a Phillies game, the Franklin Institute, and a ride on the Strasburg Railroad.

On Wednesday the Haley’s announced on their Facebook page that Jenna was in labor.

Baby Shane only lived about four hours after his birth, but his parents say he “spent his entire life in the arms of people that loved him unconditionally.”
