An Ephrata man is facing cruelty to animal charges after abusing his cat, causing injuries that led to the feline’s euthanization. Raymond R. Rehak, 46, of the 300 block of Duke Street, Ephrata Borough is accused of twice slamming his cat down on his front porch on September 30, 2014. Police say Rehak was embroiled in an argument with his neighbors and apparently took his frustrations out on his poor cat. After slamming the cat on the porch, Rehak “punted” the cat into his house, according to a press release from Ephrata Borough Police. The cat had to be euthanized due to the severity of its injuries.
