Lower Paxton Township police have arrested and charged a man after he was threatening to assault his  girlfriend and his neighbor with a chainsaw during drunken rage Saturday morning.

According to police the incident happened around 2:30a.m. along the 600 block of N. Blue Ribbon Avenue. When police arrived they found 49-year-old Michael Einzig with a 14 inch chainsaw in the backyard of his home.

Through investigation officers learned that Einzig came home to discover his next door neighbor sleeping on the living room floor and Einzig’s live in girlfriend sleeping in the bedroom.

Police say Einzig assaulted both his girlfriend and the neighbor before going outside, starting his chainsaw, and chasing the neighbor through the house.

Einzig threatened to cut the neighbor in half police said. At one point the chainsaw stalled and wouldn’t start for Einzig which allowed the neighbor to flee to his home next door.

The neighbor suffered minor injuries and Einzig had cuts to his hands from the chainsaw police said.

Einzig was arrested and charged with two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and terroristic threats.

He is currently in Dauphin County Prison on $25,000 bail.
