UPPER ALLEN TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-A 92-year-old man reported missing from his Upper Allen Township home last week was found dead Wednesday afternoon in Tioga State Forest.
Fred B. Atwood was last seen leaving his home on Oct. 7. Pennsylvania State Police later found his unoccupied vehicle along a highway near Mansfield on Oct. 10.
Searchers found Atwood’s body around noon in the woods near Route 287 in Morris Township. The Tioga County Coroner’s office said his death doesn’t appear to be suspicious, but it is under investigation.
About 90 people were involved in the search for Atwood.
