Four airplanes, five pilots. An entire team known as "The PAWS Squad" is part of a special mission. They're volunteering their time, to save 15 dogs.

An animal shelter in West Virginia, filled to capacity, would have euthanized the dogs but a simple phone call changed that.

"They reached out and told us they really needed some help and you know if we can give a hand, we're gonna give a hand," said Jennifer Nields, Operations Manager with the Lancaster County SPCA.

The Lancaster County SPCA made all the difference.

"They were a little wound up when they first got here but a lot of them are sleeping, snoozing in the cage. After a long day all they want to do is sleep and just relax," Nields said.

All of the dogs are up for adoption. Marco and Polo are two puppies that were flown in early Saturday morning. They're 8-weeks-old and they're both looking for a home.

And whether it's puppies or dogs, there are plenty to choose from. "We've got a Lab, we have Hounds, we have Pit mixes," added Nields.

"These dogs are in dire need of a second chance so I think anyone that adopts should really hold themselves higher realizing that they're saving a life," added Nields.
