MANHEIM TOWNSHP (WPMT)-A Lancaster man has been charged with stealing copper piping and wire from a Manheim Township home earlier this week, police said.

Shawn M. Landis, 46, is charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief. He remains at large.

According to police, Landis cut exterior electrical lines at a  home located along the 300 block of Pleasure Road sometime between Monday and Wednesday. He also entered the home and stole copper scrap that was inside, investigators said.

Surveillance cameras around the home caught Landis in the act. Police were able to positively identify Landis as the suspect after getting numerous tips. Officers went to Landis’ home–but he wasn’t there. Investigators did find materials that had been reported stolen from nearby Calvary Homes along the 500 block of Elizabeth Avenue sometime between Oct. 27 and Oct. 28.
