A young woman, who was told she has just months to live, lived out her dream of playing college basketball.
On Saturday, Mount St. Joseph’s freshman, Lauren Hill suited up and scored the game’s first basket just 17 seconds in to the game in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Hill has inoperable brain cancer and doctors told her in September she has only a few months to live.
Her dream was to play college ball just one time, so the NCAA allowed the schools to move the game up by two weeks so that Lauren would be healthy enough to play!
Lauren says, “Today has been the best day I’ve ever had. Thank you guys so much!”
In fitting fashion, Hill also scored the game’s final bucket, giving Mount St. Joseph’s the victory against Hiram College. After she scored, both teams gave Hill a standing ovation before she exited the game.
