TURNING MILDER

Some of the clouds from today gradually fade this evening, but more are on the way through the rest of the night. Temperatures are cold again tonight, falling into the middle 20s to lower 30s across our area. By daybreak, skies turn cloudy as our next storm system begins to take form way to the southwest. It stays mainly cloudy all day but it’s a milder day. High temperatures are in the lower to middle 40s.

MONDAY STORM MAINLY RAIN

Cloudy but not as cold on Sunday

Our next storm system takes all day Sunday forming to the southwest of the region before taking a track across the Appalachians beginning late Sunday. We could see a couple light snow showers during the evening hours. However, most stay dry until after midnight. By then, our chances for snow quickly fade, with only a light, spotty mix before becoming all rain showers before daybreak. The roads could be a little slick in spots, especially locations that manage to dip below freezing along the higher elevations. Otherwise, expect a cold rain, with the heaviest during the afternoon hours on Monday. The wet weather wraps up during the evening hours, perhaps ending as a few flakes for some.

ANOTHER ARCTIC BLAST

Cloudy but not as cold on Sunday

Behind Monday’s storm system, another burst of Arctic air rushes into the region. Temperatures plunge into the upper 20s to lower 30s for highs on Tuesday. Expect plenty of clouds and windy conditions adding an extra chill to the air. Wednesday temperatures are still in the 30s, with some more sunshine. Temperatures slowly moderate into the 40s through the end of the week, but this is still below seasonal averages for this time of year.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
