Precision Custom Components picketers are on strike in the City of York. They've been on strike for 12 weeks.

Local Union president, Earl Shue says, "We have to stand up for what we think is right. They just toss us out in the street like we're trash."

Shue started work at PCC in 1984. He says, "This is our life, working here. How we get our houses, cars and if they bargain fairly we'd be back."

Shue says the company proposed a new contract which would increase the deducible from $200 to $2000 for a single person. A family's deductible would go from $400 to $4000. Then last week, the company proposed another contract.

Shue says the contract "was not as good as the one we first turned down, and with insurance we had a gap insurance plan, took that away for us, they said we would pay 50% of it and now they won't pay for any of it."

Shue says PCC also wants to change shift start times and eliminate the third shift, which would result in lay-offs.

Shue says, "They've been more or less bullying us trying to get us back in for paycuts and concessions."

The workers receive $150 dollars a week for their union picket duty. They used to get paid around $1000 a week.

FOX 43 spoke with a PCC spokesman. We asked him if he'd talk about the contract negotiations. He said, "There's no need to do that."
He declined an interview until he says he can get more information on the strike, which could be next week.
