Christmas cards and cheery holiday voicemails are a thing of the past. New this year? “Text Me Merry Christmas”, according to a new, catchy Christmas song by Straight No Chaser featuring Kristen Bell.

The reigning holiday bestseller is Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is You” from 1994. Many artists have tried to unseat this popular Christmas party staple.

“Text Me Merry Christmas” features lines like “I don’t care if you spell things right, I just want to hear from you tonight”, and “You don’t have to add much to it, One smiley face will do :)”.

Whether or not this new, tech-savvy Christmas song can challenge Mariah has yet to be seen, but one thing is for certain, it will get stuck in your head this holiday season!
