People across our area are helping support children who are fighting cancer.

Walkers laced up their shoes to take part in the 6th Annual St. Jude's "Give Thanks Walk" for Central PA. More than 300 people came to the Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County to help raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital, and children around the world fighting cancer.

"Just seeing the turn out, and every is so generous of their time and their efforts," Committee Chair Scott Leipert said, "Every year the numbers go up-- the number of walkers, the number of dollars raised. It's just inspiring to see how many people come out to help the kids."

From online donations alone, the event raised more than $25,000 before the walk. Organizers say they also received large donations from local businesses.
