The day before Thanksgiving is typically the busiest travel day of the year, but Wednesday's snowfall could cause some issues for people trying to get to their holiday destinations safely and on time.

Starting at 4:00 a.m. dozens of PennDot crews began salting the roads in York County, including Interstate 83.

York County Maintenance Manager Mike Martin says for the most part they haven't experienced any major issues yet on the roads but that crews would be working through the evening and overnight to make sure the roads are as safe as possible for drivers.

Meanwhile, PennDot crews weren't the only ones braving the snow to help travelers out Wednesday.

Boy Scout Troop 27 in Stewartstown spent the day at the Welcome Center off of I-83 North.

That's where they passed out free coffee and snacks to drivers as they made their way through Central Pennsylvania.

The boy scouts say they'll continue to greet travelers at the Welcome Center until Thanksgiving Day at noon.
