Two injured in I-83 crash in York County

YORK CO., PA(WPMT) - The northbound lanes of I-83 near Loganville in York County have reopened in the aftermath of a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer.  It happened at about 1:11 pm at mile marker 9 in Springfield Township.

State Police say a tractor trailer was traveling in the left hand lane when a passenger vehicle, was traveling in the right hand lane, swerved into the left hand lane, striking the tractor trailer and becoming struck under the trailer part.

The vehicle, with a female driver and male passenger, was dragged a few hundred feet before the tractor trailer was able to stop. The tractor trailer driver was not hurt.

Both victims in the passenger vehicle had to be extricated from the vehicle and both were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The investigation into the crash continues.
