The fight to save the York City School District will continue Thursday morning at the York County Judicial Center.

At 10:30 a.m. a judge will hear from those who are against the district going into receivership, a move that would essentially strip the school board of its power.

As a result, most of the decision making would then go to Chief Recovery Officer, David Meckley, who was appointed by the state to be the receiver.

Meckley has been pushing for months for the district to be converted to all charter schools.

He says it would help save the failing district.

Since then, parents of students, the Teacher’s Union as well as the Pennsylvania School Board Association have all filed motions to intervene.

A judge will hear those motions Thursday morning at 10:30 at the York County Judicial Center.

A decision is expected to come later in the day.
