HARRISBURG, PA(WPMT) – Pennsylvania’s Court of Judicial Discipline orders a hearing that could revoke the probation of Lancaster County District Judge Kelly Ballentine.

Ballentine was sanctioned in June 2013 by the Court for judicial misconduct after finding that she had brought the judicial office into disrepute and prejudiced the proper administration of justice by dismissing her own traffic citations.  As part of its sanction, the Court placed Judge Ballentine on probation from June 1, 2013 through December 31, 2014.

On December 4, the Judicial Conduct Board filed its Petition to Revoke Probation alleging that Judge Ballentine had violated terms of her probation by failing to timely file individual income tax returns for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, during the probationary period.

A public hearing on the Board’s petition is scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10:00 am in Commonwealth Court Courtroom 5001, 5th floor, at the Pennsylvania Judicial Center, 601 Commonwealth Avenue, Harrisburg.
