It happened shortly after 10pm Wednesday in the 00 blk of N. Eastland Drive. Arriving officers from East Lampeter Township PD saw an unoccupied white Dodge Dakota pickup parked nearby and found that the front door  kicked in.   They found Jan Steiger, 49,  inside the residence attempting to disarm the alarm system.

Police say Steiger was an ex-boyfriend of the homeowner and not permitted to be on the property.   The homeowner was not at the residence at the time of the incident. Steiger was charged with felony Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief. He was arraigned before MDJ Brian Chudzik and was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.
