Lower Paxton Township police have an arrest warrant out for 28-year-old James Andrew Lane, charging him with burglary, forgery and receiving stolen property.

According to police, Lane was involved in a distraction style burglary of a home along the 5600 block of Derbyshire Road on December 2nd. Police say Lane posed as an employee of a gas company who purported that he was taking measurements for upgrades. Property and checks were stolen from the victim’s residence by an unknown second individual while Lane was in the backyard with the homeowner.

Police say, Lane then  attempted to cash forged checks belonging to the victim at Colonial Park Mall and at a bank along Loucks Road in York County.

Police said in a press release, Lane uses the alias name of Kevin Smith and is being described as a White Male, 5’9″ tall, with a medium to athletic build. He is known to drive a dark-colored pick-up truck with Texas registration plates.

Lane has resided in the York area in the past police said.
