Egg Nog is more than just a beverage

Mover over pumpkin spice everything, it’s officially egg nog season.  Andrea Nikolaus with Turkey Hill Dairy shows us how egg nog is more than just a beverage.

Spiced Egg Nog Pancakes
For a quicker breakfast, add egg nog and nutmeg to instant pancake mix.
· 2 cups all-purpose flour
· 1 tablespoon baking powder
· 1/2 teaspoon salt
· 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
· 2 eggs, lightly beaten
· 2 cups Turkey Hill Egg Nog
· 1/4 cup cooking oil
In a large bowl, combine flour and the other dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, combine the
remaining ingredients and then stir into flour mixture. Cook pancakes on a lightly greased
griddle, flipping when the tops are bubbly and the edges are slightly dry. Makes 16 pancakes.


Egg Nog Cheesecake
· 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
· 2 tablespoons white sugar
· 3 tablespoons melted butter
· 3 8-ounce packages cream cheese
· 1 cup white sugar
· 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
· 3/4 cup Turkey Hill Egg Nog
· 2 eggs
· 2 tablespoons rum (optional)
· 1 pinch ground nutmeg
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, two
tablespoons sugar, and melted butter. Press mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch spring form
cheesecake pan and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
While crust is cooling, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a food processor or with a hand mixer,
combine cream cheese, one cup sugar, flour, and egg nog until smooth. Blend in eggs, rum,
and nutmeg. Pour mixture onto the crust and bake for 45 minutes. Allow to cool on a wire rack
for approximately one hour before chilling in the refrigerator for four hours or overnight.

Hawaiian Egg Nog Smoothie
· 1 cup pineapple juice
· 1 cup orange juice
· 2 cups Turkey Hill Egg Nog
· 4 scoops Turkey Hill French Vanilla Ice Cream
· 2 tablespoons grated orange peel (optional)
Combine juices and egg nog in a blender, then add ice cream and blend to the desired
consistency. Pour into eight mugs and top with the orange peel.
