A police department in Lebanon County is on a new mission this holiday season; they're calling it "Operation: Fill A Cruiser."

Officers at the South Londonderry Township Police Department are collecting unwrapped Christmas presents, as well as non-perishable food items. The gifts and food will be donated to children and families in need throughout the Palmyra, Annville and Lebanon communities.

"So far, the turnout has been great, even for our first year, people have come out and responded well. We're pretty pleased, we're going to be able to help a lot of families," says Sgt. Gerry Cassel, with South Londonderry Township Police.

Any extra donations will go to a partner organization or will be kept for next year's "Fill A Cruiser" mission.
