SHOWERS FOR SUNDAY

A slow moving cold front continues to approach from the west, filtering clouds in this evening. Skies become mostly cloudy through the rest of the night. As the system edges near, spotty light showers are possible near daybreak. Overnight low temperatures are milder than the past few nights, falling into the middle 30s to lower 40s. On and off light rain showers continue through Sunday as the cold front gradually crosses through. High temperatures are still mild, sitting in the middle to upper 40s.

COOLING DOWN

On Monday, the front is pushed far enough south that sunshine returns to the region. Colder air slowly begins to move in as an arctic air mass begins to invade a large portion of the country. This knocks highs down in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Even colder air brings clouds Tuesday, with afternoon high temperatures only reaching the middle 30s.

COLD BLAST BEGINS 2015

High pressure settles the frigid air mass over the region by Wednesday (New Year’s Eve). Highs are near 30 degrees, with overnight temperatures in the frigid lower 20s as we ring in the New Year. On New Year’s Day, we’re still quite cold, with highs climbing into the middle 30s. Friday is dry with building clouds and a late shower possible. High temperatures are near 40 degrees. Saturday brings a better chance for showers, with temperatures looking to warm yet again. We could be back into the 50s!
