EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP (WPMT)- A Lancaster man was arrested after police said he stole construction tools and electrical wire after breaking into a building last month.

Police charged 50-year-old Eric W. Lozada-Rivera with burglary, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. He was arrested Dec. 29 and taken to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $50,000.

According to investigators, Lozada-Rivera broke into a vacant building– owned by Lancaster Mennonite School– along the 2100 block Lincoln Highway East on Dec. 2.

He stole a large amount of construction tools and electrical wire valued at $9,439, police said. The building was undergoing renovations at the time of the theft. Investigators were able to recover some of the tools during a search at Lozada-Rivera’s home.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 8
