FRIDAY: It’s the first Friday of the year and we’ll see an above average day with highs in the low 40s. Expect partly cloudy skies and dry weather. Tonight, we get more clouds in the mix with lows in the upper 20s. Enjoy!
WEEKEND SYSTEM: Just in time for our weekend, we’ll see a storm system bring us some wet weather Saturday, but it looks to start as an icy mix in the morning. Precip starts between 8-10AM for most as a mix of sleet, freezing rain, and rain with a few flakes north. We switch to scattered rain showers through the afternoon. The heaviest rain falls overnight as we continue to warm and the winds ramp up. Highs climb toward the upper 30s for late afternoon, nearing the low 40s around midnight with warming overnight. Watch for some icing on trees, power lines, and elevated areas early Saturday, and a few slick spots. We will see the rain end late morning Sunday, and we may end up with around 1” in the bucket.
As the rain tapers Sunday morning, a bubble of warmth comes in and bumps us to the low to middle 50s for highs. Winds ramp up as the cold front passes during the day, dropping our temperatures to the upper 20s by Monday morning! Winds will be west to northwest at 15-25mph.
NEXT WEEK: It’s windy and partly cloudy Monday as we continue to dry out. Highs only top out near freezing. Tuesday, expect mostly cloudy skies and high near freezing. We’ll see a clipper bring some light snow showers too. We chill off even more, into the 20s for highs by mid-week! Stay warm.
Have a fantastic Friday and a great weekend too!
