State police search for man after attempted robbery in Berks County

Tilden Twp., BERKS COUNTY (WPMT)- State police are searching for a man who tried to rob a convenience store in Berks County last month.

It happened at Square One located along the first block of Industrial Drive in Tilden Township on Dec. 26.

A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt entered the store around 5:20 a.m. and demanded money from the cash register, state police said. The employee told investigators the suspect acted like he had a gun hidden in his sweatshirt. When the employee told the robber there wasn’t a lot of money in the drawer–the suspect fled on foot towards Route 61.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male in his mid 20s, approximately 5’8″ and between 160-180 pounds. The employee told police the man spoke with an accent.
