… A Wind Chill Advisory goes in effect at 1PM today until 3PM Thursday for areas northwest of the I-81 corridor and 7PM until 9AM southeast for dangerous wind chill values between -10° and -20° at times…

ARCTIC COLD:  With a fresh coating of snow on the ground, we start the day breezy and cold in the teens for most.  Wind chills are in the single digits.  Through the day, we’re mostly cloudy with a period of afternoon snow squalls as a cold front slips in from the north.  These could drop visibilities fast and even bring a quick accumulation of snow under an inch.  Highs will be in near 20°.

By evening, temps are tumbling and winds ramp up.  Evening to overnight, expect dangerous wind chills in the -10° to -20° range.  Stay warm and don’t forget the pets!

Thursday, we only make it to the upper teens for the afternoon despite a good amount of sun.  Winds remain breezy with wind chills moving from the negatives to the single digits.

FRIDAY:  By Friday, we try to rebound a bit and we’ll do a good job of getting near 30°.  It’s mostly cloudy as a weak wave slips in bringing the shot a few light snow showers. The breeze continues to add to the chill.

WEEKEND:  High pressure brings cold air and sun for Saturday.  We’re breezy and cold again with highs only in the low 20s.  We warm back to near 30° with added clouds for Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: We’re watching the models dance with a system to our South for Monday into Tuesday.  For now, we’ve thrown a mix in the forecast Monday with highs in the middle 30s.  Tuesday, it may linger, but for now, it’s partly cloudy with a high near 34°.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.  I’ll see you on Monday!
