Motorists are advised that southbound Interstate 83 will be closed this morning for about two to three hours starting at around 9 a.m. in the York City area of York County. The closure is necessary to allow workers to remove a tractor trailer that crashed just south of I-83 Exit 21 (Route 30) during yesterday’s snow storm. The truck’s cargo was removed yesterday. Work crews are returning today under safer conditions to remove the tractor trailer.

Starting at around 9 a.m., southbound I-83 will be closed at Exit 21 and southbound traffic will be detoured by way of eastbound Route 30 to southbound North Hills Road (State Route 2003) to Market Street (Route 462) and back onto southbound I-83 at Exit 19 (Route 462). The removal of the truck is expected to be completed and southbound I-83 reopened to traffic before noon today.
