EAST LAMPETER TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-Police filed theft charges this week against a 24-year-old man accused of stealing a Rolex watch from a Lancaster County jewelry store on Sept. 12.

Authorities charged Marcus James, formerly of Philadelphia, with retail theft. James, who also goes by Taquan Eric Knight, allegedly stole a watch valued at $10,400 from Kay Jewelers at the Tanger Outlets in East Lampeter Township.

According to police, James asked to try on a high end Rolex watch–and after putting it on his wrist–ran out of the store.

Investigators were able to identify James as the suspect by analyzing fingerprints lifted from the jewelery display case. Police said James may also be responsible for similar thefts in Pittsburgh and Marion Township.

James is currently behind bars in Allegheny County Jail awaiting extradition to Lancaster County.
