Just because the temperatures are falling, doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the outdoors.

Many families braved the cold weather Saturday afternoon to enjoy tubing at AvalancheXpress in Springettsbury Township, York County. The popular winter attraction at heritage hills-- which features 8 tubing lanes-- opened for the season on Friday. Folks say tubing gives a thrilling downhill experience for the whole family.

"What makes snow tubing awesome is at the top you can see that giant drop, that can reach speeds up to 40 miles per hour," AvalancheXpress Manager Karley Richard said, "so you can kind of come flying down that hill and when you get groups together, we have some catch bags at the bottom, and hit those bags it's a good feeling, it's definitely a lot of fun and it's a cool experience you get to have as a family. "

AvalancheXpress also offers other fun activities including ice skating and laser tag. The facility is open Monday through Sunday. For a full schedule, click here.
