Wintry weather tapers through the morning
A storm system exiting the region this morning has brought a mixed bag of precipitation across the region through the night. Our entire area has seen accumulating snowfall, but south and southeastern counties along the border have seen mixing with sleet, freezing rain, and rain over the last several hours. This precipitation has begun to taper showers, and expect this to continue through mid morning. Conditions will still be slippery, so use extra caution if you must venture out.
Snow showers, even still mixed with some rain showers, end by 10 A.M. to noon. Additional accumulations around an inch are possible in some of the heavier bursts of snow showers as conditions wind down, but most see little additional accumulation through mid morning. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect through the morning.
