Charges pending in fatal Lebanon County crash

SOUTH LEBANON TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-Charges are pending against a Norristown man after one person was killed and another injured in crash involving a tractor-trailer and car in Lebanon County.

The crash happened near the intersection of Route 419 and Rexmont Road in South Lebanon Township around 8:38 p.m. Wednesday. Igor Salitra, 44, was driving east on Route 419 when he attempted to turn his rig around after missing his turn onto State Drive, police said. Police said the tractor-trailer was completely blocking both lanes of Route 419.

While Salitra was turning his rig around –a car driven by 68-year-old Richard Yancoskie, of Annville, rounded a curve and hit the trailer Salitra was towing.

Yancoskie died at the scene. His  wife, Rosemarie, 66, was taken to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment.

Salitra was not injured in the crash. According to authorities, charges against Salitra are pending.
