Police say a 21-year-old Ephrata man is being charged after he broke into 11 vehicles Thursday night.

According to Ephrata police, Brandon Rea,  is now being charged with theft by motor vehicle and criminal mischief after police followed his shoe prints in the snow along the 100 block of Westbrook Drive and caught him inside a vehicle.

Police say they were called to the  1000 block of Rettew Mill Road around 10:30p.m.  after a resident witnessed Rea hiding behind a car.  The resident approached Rea who immediately walked away from the scene. The resident realized that a GPS and a change purse were missing from the vehicle.

Rea’s crime spree resulted in about $550 dollars worth of items were taken from vehicles along Retthew Mill Road, Westbrook Drive, and Partridge Drive Ephrata Township. One victim said the suspect destroyed the center console of a vehicle to gain access to valuable police said.
