TARPON SPRINGS, Fl- A Florida mother says her son asked his teacher to go to the bathroom and was denied. The 10-year-old suffers from a gastrointestinal disorder, according to his mother, which causes him to frequently vomit and use the bathroom.
The boy’s mother wanted to remain anonymous to protect her son’s identity. She said that after he was denied use of the bathroom, he had diarrhea and came home embarrassed.
Her son told her that he is frequently denied permission to use the bathroom. He has become so fearful that he has started calling home and asking to come home to relieve himself.
The school district told WFTS they investigated the mother’s allegation and found no record of this occurring.
This is not the first time Sunset Hill Elementary has come under fire for children denied access to the bathroom.
A kindergartner made the news just last week after a girl peed her pants in class. The district released a statement saying the incident was all a miscommunication.
